• De-risking vs decoupling: De-risking means reducing specific vulnerabilities in critical supply chains (semiconductors, rare earths, pharmaceuticals) while maintaining broader trade and economic ties. Decoupling means severing economic relationships more comprehensively.
• Climate commitments: G7 demanded all major economies peak greenhouse gas emissions by 2025 and reach net zero by 2050.
• India's tension: India projects continued emission growth through the decade. India's NDC targets net zero by 2070, not 2050.

• Paperless assemblies: Nagaland and Himachal Pradesh have become fully paperless assemblies using NeVA.
• Policy basis: Part of the Government's Digital India initiative and the broader Mission Mode Project for legislative bodies.
• Significance for UPSC: NeVA is an example of digitising constitutional institutions. Questions about whether digitisation of legislative proceedings is a state or central subject may arise.

A review of the proposed Great Nicobar port project raised concerns about its impact on Leatherback turtle nesting sites.

• Leatherback turtle (Dermochelys coriacea): The world's largest sea turtle. Can weigh up to 900 kg. Named for its leathery skin instead of a hard shell.
• IUCN status: Vulnerable globally.
• Nesting geography: Nest exclusively in three locations: Indonesia, Sri Lanka and the Andaman and Nicobar Islands.
• Great Nicobar concern: The proposed transshipment port on Great Nicobar Island is situated near nesting beaches. The project plan lacks biodiversity compensation provisions for the nesting impact.
